Gleditsia triacanthos Inermis
Height: 1,5–2 m
The thornless honey locust is a tall tree with a spreading, loose crown that can reach a height of 15-20m. Its crown is rounded when young, later umbrella-shaped. Its branches are thornless. The leaves are pinnately compound, glossy dark green, and turn yellow in autumn. The flowers bloom in May-June in loose clusters; they are brownish green, occasionally unisexual, and have no ornamental value. The flowers are followed in autumn by long, flat, twisted pods, which are dark brown when ripe. It likes a sunny spot and is not demanding as to soil. Its water needs are moderate. Suitable as a park tree and for planting in rows.
